WELCOME NOTE

Assalamualaikum w.b.t and warm welcome,

In line with the university plan, establishment of a research centre of excellence is one of the strategic planning in order to strengthen the research capability. Taking into account the national agenda, pertinent industrial needs and state of the art of knowledge development, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (FKM) has identified that sustainable energy and automotive, as their niche area to be focused on in their research activities. This can lead to a reduction in energy consumption and an increase in durability, which is of great economic and environmental interest. Hence, one centre of excellence has been established to accommodate and support this idea and it is called the Centre for Advanced Research on Energy (CARe). Currently, CARe serves as an umbrella to co-ordinate dissemination efforts and to initiate the fundamental as well as applied research activities for the development of the Energy-Efficient Vehicles (EEVs) with high technology uptake among industry players for sustainable domestic, regional and international exports/benefits. CARe in collaboration with FKM will organize annually the Mechanical Engineering Research Day (MERD) and the Postgraduate Research Symposium in Mechanical Engineering (PRiSME).
